This ‘marker’ represents both the psychological/emotional break I took for several years and the lapse in any serious effort with my work. From the years 1998 through to 2003, I took a long break from producing any serious artwork. THough I continued to investigate ideas and did produce a variety of drawings, my sense of self as an artist was put on hold while I dealt with bigger more immediate issues concerning my life and the loss of a variety of people very close to me.

The Dog Walk photography series represents beginning again. Looking to the past in my own resources and digging out some things that felt authentic to my life now and to the life of art in the 21st century.
